Hawks t56 swap package
Hey guys I'm looking to t56 swap my 85 iroc it's a stock 305. I'm looking around for the parts needed I'd rather buy everything I need from Hawks than spend forever piecing it all together. I'm wondering had anyone purchased this setup from them before? Was it worth it? Does it come with any instructionial information? Did it have EVERYTHING needed to complete the swap? I found a few swap threads but not much info on the setup they sell.
Thanks
Thanks

That's a lot of money for those parts. I would try to find a parts car to use for the swap. It's not a hard swap and I highly recommend it.

I really want to do this swap. I looked at the Hawks kit and find it hard to justify the price, especially when half is used and recommended being replaced.
I also feel that if the $50 "crate" fee is non negotiable, then just add it into the overall cost. Just seems silly to list it like they have it.

Re: Hawks t56 swap package
You should be able to purchase a 6 speed from an LT1 for 800-1400 (from our classifieds) depending on what the seller throws in. Some of the other stuff like pedals and hydraulics you should be able to source from a fourth gen in a wrecking yard. Thirdgens are becoming scarcer so you may not come across a manual thirdgen with those parts still attached.
