9 bolt issues
9 bolt issues
Hi guys hoping someone can help me so this past weekend I converted my car from a 10 bolt to a 9 bolt and the driveshaft sticks like a inch and a half further out the tranny than before and at low speeds it clunks and high speeds it vibrates any information of what I might’ve done wrong would be helpful some extra info I reused the stock control arms, coils and torque arm

Re: 9 bolt issues
Can you take a picture of how far out of the trans the driveline sticks out? My car had a 9 bolt stock and the slip yoke does have a lot of "stick out" it seems like. Came that way though and works just fine so maybe if you give me a picture I can tell you if it appears normal.

Re: 9 bolt issues
10 bolts and 9 bolts are direct swaps. Driveshaft fits both with no issues. You have something damaged, stuck, or broken in the transmission tail? Vibration can be from worn u-joints or lost the weights on the driveshaft.

Year of the car and transmission type? I see 87Z in your edit. Is that correct?
