I have a 88 GTA 5 speed 305 tpi

I just put in a built by me 383 sbc I built over the winter
and I got a used t56 swap from a 1995 lt1 trans am
its in the car working

i have no reverse lights
i cant find the connecter

ok so the vss is hooked up working mint

the i took apart my reverse lock out thing to be able to get in into reverse

and i just need to find the sensor that's runs the reverse light switch

i got under it again today

there is a sensor / switch on the driverside

its huge

on my t5 is small like a deep socket

is it my skip shift thing???

i tried to hook it up to that and my reverse lights didn't work?
is there another thing or is that part broken

does anyone have a pic

If you have the T56 repair manual, look on Page 10. The reverse light switch is on the PASSENGER side of the car, at about the 3:00 position, just behind the bellhousing.

It's part #59 in the drawing on page 10.

It's been awhile since I installed my T5, but I suspect the confusion comes from (if I recall properly) the reverse light switch being on the DRIVER side of a T5, and it's on the PASSENGER side of a T56.
