Aftermarket Auburn vs Factory Auburn
How similar is a new Auburn HP series to the Auburn limited slip that originally came in a 1986 IROC-Z? Similar casting? Internals?

They are essentially the same. There are detail differences but not much. They revise their product often; within acoupla years, no parts interchange. Never really gets any "better", sometimes gets ALOT worse; but nothing fits anymore
The "high-perf" one has more springs on the clutches.
I'm not a fan of that company. AT ALL.

So I ended up getting one from JEGS. $40 off at the moment plus a $30 coupon code. Total was like $327.00. I’d rather have a Torsen or Truetrac but this will keep it close to factory for way less.

If you drive it like most mature people drive then it will last pretty well. If you drive it like someone normally drives a hot rod then it won't last a long time. You will need to add a lot of limited slip oil additive to it to keep it from chattering. It usually takes 2 bottles of the Ford LSD additive to get it somewhat quiet.
