Air Induction

Does anyone know of any companies who manufacture cold air intake kits for the 3.1L engine. I've been looking all over and I can only find performance parts for 5.0's or 5.7's. I'd appreciate anyone's input on this subject. Thanks.

1. Welcome to the board

2.You're going to get 50 billion responses that say "Do a search". do it.

3. No aftermarket companies, but you can make your own, especially w/a 'maro & "free ram air".

I think you should do a search on it.

Welcome to the boards, and you can use an intake designed for a 90-92 5.0 or 5.7 TPI fuel injected motor. They use the same intake as your 3.1.

Same thing with the 85-89 2.8; uses the same intake as the 85-89 TPI v8's.

Note: Not TBI! Only TPI!!

My front bumper is coming off here in a few weeks (I was recently in an accident, other guy's fault which means his insurance is paying for my new paint job ) and I was thinking of doing the ram air setup for my 88 camaro, but does anybody know how much of an improvement that is over just gutting the airboxes? Also, it seems to me that doing that would restrict airflow to the radiator. Have any of you guys that have done this had any overheating problems?

Thanks for all the info guys...I really appreciate it. I've got a buddy who is really into modding little 4 banger engines, but I think he'll be able to help me out. Well, back to work. Thanks again.
