What do I do?

I paid 900 for my Camaro with a elictrical problem I took it to the shop a week ago, just got it back paid 350 bucks to fix it and now it won't start again. The guy who worked on it said it has a broken EGR pipe that's burning the wire harness so now I have to fix the EGR pipe and get a new harness what should I do get rid of it or fix it? The car has alot of miles! I don't know what to do

If the mechanic fixed the problem for $350, why is there still a problem? Sounds like he caused the problem and figures you'll pay him to fix it

Fix the EGR pipe and repair the wiring harness using junkyard parts. If gaskets are needed, pick them up new at the auto parts store.

Thi is simple fix but kinda extensive.
BUT EASY!
Find the EGR pipe. Re-Use the old gaskets & exhaust gasket in a tube.
There is no true pressure at that exhaust area.
The wires is easy.
ONLY seek 1985 wire harness at the injector wire harness. Chances of matching is 100%!
Plug in new harness, back up to find your good original wire harness, cut, match color of wires, solder, heat shrink tubing on wires (for ulimate protection).
I had this happen after I swapped in the 3.4
On way home, I "fried" wires there.
I just ended up pulling wires away from heat source.
My wires are ok.
You sound like you have a problem.
Yeah, those wires burnt, will cause a starting problem.
Electric signal to the fuel injectors.
It is an easy fix.
Just only need 1985 wire harness at that point & you're good to go!
You can get those for free at yards.
Cut & stuff in pocket!
Honest, it is an easy fix.
DON'T make the shop do it. You can!
EGR hose is 10mm bolts.
While apart, clean all passages, too.
YOU CAN DO THIS!!
Just need parts & planning.
Your cost is about $10 for the heat shrink tube & gasket stuff, IF THAT MUCH!!

If it had that high of mileage, I'm surprised the catalytic convertor didn't fail earlier. The pellet beds on the original cats are usually broken up by now, and can clog the exhaust.

I'm with Richrad and Ked... after $350, the mechanic should've been able to fix an EGR pipe. Get the harness and fix it yourself. Get a starter and replace it yourself. Go to http://www.helminc.com and buy the GM factory service manual , or if you're broke, get the http://www.haynes.com 82-92 Firebird or Camaro manual from a local "chain-style" (Pep Boys, Autozone, etc) auto parts store for $15. It'll tell you how to replace the starter.

And if all else fails, find another mechanic. For $350 he should have fixed the source of the problem (egr pipe), not just the problem.
