Not sure I would waste the money on a stock size/location K&N filter. These litle V6s really bennfit from a true cold air or ra air system of some sort.
Its is your money though and I guess you could sell it later as its reuseable forever.

I installed the 2.8/v8 Dual snorkle intake on my 1991.
Do a search on the v6 board for CAI, or Cold air intake, and get your ideas from it. MANY different styles, idea, veriances. No company makes one for these cars.

run tubing from the TB to either a corner of the engine bay or down near the ground and put a K&N cone on it....here's a pic of mine, not too pretty but it does the job. i would get more permanent tubing but i'm selling it. anyway...

would a ram air hood with that "Open Element" filter get more air into the engine than just the regular cone CAI?
thanks

CAI isnt all its hyped up to be, and most "CAI" setups arent really cold air.
Import users like to call anything with a Stainless Steel tube, and air filter and cost over 200$ a "CAI"

a CAI on the stock engine would offer you very little to no improvement over the stock setup.
The area on our cars where the air filter goes doesnt even get hot, so a CAI wouldnt do anything anyways.
The only benefit you would see from a CAI setup is the fact that you normally get a K&N filter with them, but you can get a K&N to replace your stock filter.

They got some nifty parts cheap that could be worked into something. a duct mounted over the air dam area could be used as a type of ram air. Or cut some holes in the bumper.
