Q on dash lights
I have no dash lights at night. Ichecked before I installed it using a 12V power source & point to point contact. Is this a closed loop type, where if 1 bulb goes, everything doesn't work??? I have the lights to illuminate the headlight & hvac switches out. Is this f'ing things up?

They're wired in parallel. You've already checked the fuse, right?
The other lights being out shouldn't affect it any.

At least It will come out easy & I just have to track down wahrs w/the dvm. not too bad \, just use the back of the cluster for guide.

This may sound stupid but is your dimmer switch turned all the way up to where it almost turns the dome light on.
I got in my Camaro one night turned on the lights and was like what the ???? no dash lights, turned out whenever I pulled my headlights on I turn the **** and dimmed the dash lights by mistake

Not the dimmer switch. First thing I checked. Good thing the lights in the rear view mirror are just bright enough to see the gauges, & not bright enough to interfere w/night driving

Im having the same problem, my gauge lights won't come on when I turn my headlights on and yes I checked the dimmer. Also, I took my gauge cluster out to take a look and had to pull the headlight switch when i did and the **** slipped right out and I can't put it back and lock it in, I can't switch my headlights on :P. Anyone know how to put this back? My gauge fuse is just replaced and not blown, they won't come on.

fpr the camaros w/old school style pull out headlight switch, it should just slide back in. I believe it is triangle in shape & has a spring loaded check ball to keep it from slipping out. Might need to depress this checkball to get it back in.

If your **** slid right out (heh heh) to begin with, it sounds like the switch is fubar'ed and will need replaced.
The checkball is a spring-loaded retention device for the shaft. It's on the switch, in the middle of the side opposite the wire connector. If your fingers are long enough, you may be able to reach it through the opening below the **** with the trim panel off.
