Crossfire engine!

Alright guys i'm kinda new to the camaro world. I got a 1991 Camaro RS 3.1 V-6 crossfire engine. My question is what is the crossfire part? I never would have known about it if my friend hadn't said i had a crossfire, but he didnt know what it was either. So please give me some help on what it is and what it does. Thanks guys.

You have been misinformed by somebody- what you have is a Multi-port injected (MPI) engine.

The Cross Fire was a system using dual throttle bodies and it was only used on early 305 engines in F bodies

Does what add horsepower, cross fire injection or Multi-Port?

GM did not use the cross fire for long as they developed better induction systems. SOme people have modded it, do a search on the TBI board or something.

Multi port was used I believe on all 85-up V6 F body cars weather they be 2.8 or 3.1 powered, yes the MPI was more powerful than the carb it superceeeded, but it's not like you have anything "special" you just have the stock system that came on your car.

Well unless my old buddy Grants car made its way to Texas or alot of people like to fab up CFI stuff onto a V6 its just A MPI. I say that because my friend had an 86-87 Camaro that somone somehow fitted a CFI air box/lid on, looked cool and fooled me I thought it was a CFI V6.
