84 2.8 roller tip rocker's
84 2.8 roller tip rocker's
i'm debating on buying a set of roller tip rockers but i dont know what size to get 1.52 or 1.6. I know you could get away with the 1.6's on the v'8s but i'm not sure with the v6. Also i read last night that the fuel injected heads would work w/o any mods on my ol 2.8 but would the intake manifold for my carbed setup bolt on the 3.? heads? Also if i'd get these roller tip rockers would they be compatible with the 3.? heads. any help would be great thanks again guys.

yes fi heads bolt up to carb engines.
yes 1.6 rockers work on these heads, installed some 2 nights ago, drove it to work today
1.52/1.6 option up to you. Do you have strick smog testing? I've read that 1.6 sometimes is hard to pass strick smog.

just a quick question you should be able to answer. It is clear to me that 1.6 RRs will fit on 2.8 fi heads, but where would i pick up a set, meaning, what is the best manufacturer for this type of upgrade?
Thanks,

not ALL rr fit.
They must be narrow body (aka center bolt) and NON-self-aligning.
You must also switch to 3/8 studs.
To this day, I have only found 3 different ones.

purple set on ebay from "the engine store" or something like that.
I looked on catpep.com, and it appears they MAY have a set.

go on ebay and search for 'sbc roller rockers' get a set of "OEM stamped style roller tip," re-use you stock pivot ***** and you will have no problems. you can use your 10mm studs with the stamped style rockers but do use you stock pivot *****. i picked up a set of these rockers off ebay for like $72 including shipping a while ago, that's what i have on my car now. i don't know if i'd go 1.6 unless you put new, slightly stiffer springs in too. i've heard of some people actually losing a little power by going to 1.6s and keeping original springs.
