Fluid Changing ?'s
My first year of college is almost over and I will be moving back hom next week. This means it is time to get caught up on some maintanance on my car. The first question that I have is, is where do I pour the new transmission fluid in after I have changed filter and gasket? I am assuming that I just pour it in where you check the level of the transmission fluid. Or is there another place to put the fluid in? My other question is that I am going to change the rear differential fluid in my car. Yes, I know this is a real crappy job, but someones gotta do it. I was wondering if any of the V-6 cars came with limited slip so i know which kind of fluid to buy or if i have to put a friction modifier in it. Also, what is the easier way to change the fluid in the differential because I have never done it before?

You pour the trans fluid down the tube from which you check it.
Unbolt the rear cover and put a pan under it, itll pretty much drain itself. You add REGULAR diff fluid through the hole in the rear . Mine is right by the top on the pass side. You do not need posi additive.
BTW make sure you have the gasket on the trans pan on correct and have all the bolts in good or you'll have a nice leak!
Same for the rear but i've seen some people just use rtv instead of a gasket.
good luck and im sure some other members will add some to this thread.
