how do you get 30 mpg with a v6?
Honestly, i can't say that i know...what i can say is that i just did.....33 mpg on a 110mile leg of a trip....i got out, and refilled at the gas station, think it was 3.3 gallons or so, then i stuck it into my phone's calculator...110 miles / 3.3 gal = 33.33 mpg!!!
After that, i thought i had a fluke, so, i drove the car the rest of the trip 95 miles....burned just under 3 gallons, 2.9 something equaled out to 32.75mpg...
The changes made this summer were adding a new ignition module, cap, rotor, plug wires, adjusting ignition timing to 13* and to finish things off finally getting my TCC selenoid fixed, apparently turning lower gears really helped her out on the highway......hopefully everything will keep like this for a while. as for me, i'm just
along.

My x pulled 28 something outta the car once, then on that return trip got 25 something. That was fairly stock and loaded with 2.5 ppl and luggage. So I think 30 is possible if just one person and no extras, on the road.
Now try getting that in town

I get about 26, with my foot in the floor. :P
Wit hthe V8 T5, I hope to knock 30 on the hiway (.76 vs .63 OD)
I'll be turning 500less rpm @ 90mph (where I cruise) 3k vs 2500 rpm
Plus chip tuning + lean cruise mode.

I have gotten 33 MPG in my old 85 2.8L with amnual tranny on a trip from Foxboro, MA to Cape Cod. I guess having a manual tranny helps and keeping a contant highway speed. Cruise control Can help out although mine was broken at the time. Also if you accelerate slowly helps. My dad when he owned that same car brand new once got 44 MPG. I think because of all those reasons and he accelerates extra slow and went 55 the whole way and it was entirly highway 315 miles going from Foxboro MA to dover foxcraft maine. is how he was able to do it. Plus it was new and good tune up. My 89 2.8L auto doesnt get anywhere as near as good.... 24 MPG on the higway and like 12 -14 city

Don't complain... just be happy, on my recent trip to Irvine, best I got was 21.4 MPG... that's up from my usual 17.5-18 MPG (rush hour traffic on the 405)

yeah i wish my cruise control worked. I almost squeek out 34 cruising on the freeway. Always wondering what I'd get if I could use it.

I only get about 18mpg with 50/50 city/highway miles. But that's not grannying it. I have to slam real hard to make this motor go. I wish I had the time and money to make her run properly.
560km kretos!?! I get about 350km for about 45-50 liters of gas.

I normally get about 200 miles per tank out of my wife's 92 RS 3.1 (mostly city driving), so last week when I took it to San Diego I thought the gas gauge was broken 'cause it was reading a half tank at 210 miles! I ended up getting about 26mpg out of it, and that's without cruise control (which it doesn't have). Still, that's better than my car, which is why I took the Camaro to San Diego!

Actually I don't drive from SFV to Irvine EVERYDAY. I live down in Irvine during the school year. I'm actually interning in Marina Del Rey for the summer. The drives thru the West Side are ugly anyway...
One more thing, I think the gas we get here in the LA/So Cal area is
Hey does anyone have the original EPA estimates for gas mileage for our cars?

My all time best was 35 mpg, all highway. I get about 25 city and 28 now. In order to get 30mpg would have to be all highway miles, going easy on the accelerater, little idling. As far as engine im not sure. Engine can't be modded too much. I have basic bolt on items on my engine, otherwise its internally stock.
