Code 34

I was driving today for work, then my service engine flashes. So, I came to a stop and I checked out the trouble shooting code. It was a 34, something dat deals with the MAF sensor. I was wondering where that sensor is and how do I fix it?

Not sure about about the 3.1 although i think it is the same, it is on the intake tubing going towards the throttle body.

Look for the black tubing coming from the Y intake part, then look for the part of the tubing which has a little plug on the side that says MAF on top, that is it.

Try cleaning the connections and inside first with some electrical contact cleaner then plug ti back in and check again after a little bit. If not, find a used one and see. A new one can be upward of $200 so you want to try and find used or fix the current.

It is before the air from outside reaches the engine, I dont have a light in my hood but my guess is no. If you have a Hanyes or Chilton manual it should tell u, if not I might have mine somewhere around here and I will see if I can find it for the 3.1

no 3.1's have the MAF

they all have MAP's which you can find in almost the same spot, but closer to the TB on the intake tubing.

90-92 3.1 = MAP
85-89 2.8 = MAF

If you have a MAP system, it'll be attached to the firewall on the passenger side.
