How do you turn the crank?

How do you turn the crank once you have taken off the timing cover to reach TDC? what do you use to turn the sprockets so they can line up for TDC?

I put the harmonic balancer bolt back in the end, with a socket to take up the space of the balancer. Can use alot of washers, but the socket was faster to me.

Pull the spark plugs so you relieve compression and then just place the balancer onto the end and spin it by hand using the balancer (doesn't even have to be bolted on, just the keyway.

if the chain is still on, the marks on the sprockets will line up. if its off, then put it back on to set it at #1 TDC.
