Is it The Fuel Pump

Hi, i have a 1992 Camaro Rs V6 3.1

i just changed the Fuel injectors to it last week.

Now This Week i was driving home one night and it staled out on me out of no-ware, like a block away from my house, so i tried to turn it back on it cranked but it did not start it felt like it was not getting any fuel or something, anyway i waited like :30 Minutes talking to a friend to help me push it, so when i got in the car i tried to crank it one more time and it started.

A second Time this week the same thing happened to me so this time when i tried to crank it back on, i stood silent to hear if the fuel pump in the back goes on when i turn the ignition on and it does make the noise that it should, but the car still did not turn on it cranked normal but did not turn on.
I waited like 15min and it stared normal.

Some people say it can be the fuel pump it over heats or the fuel pusher i am not sure what it can be i need a good opinion because to take that gas tank out its a lil bit of work i will do it but i rather narrow down the problem First

O Wait i remember also that
about 3or4 weeks Ago i did hear in the back like the pump was stuck like a honing sound but i thougt it was because the tank was empty so i put a full tank after that i had no problem. In till Now

this is alot like my problem.. instead of crating a new thread.. you should have just added to an existing one. ( I think we all make that mistake) but you can use the search tool to help you find similar threads. anyways.. let me know what you find out about your problem and good luck!

I have a problem with my fuel pump too. It was working fine before it was shipped from Florida to my house. I'm not sure if its the wirering or if its the pump itself. i'm not looking foward to dropping the tank in my driveway. I hear its a real pain.......... Hope you figure out the probelm.

Call the company that shipped it and ask them what happened.

If they reccomend a shop it was their fault and they probably own it.
[They should just say nothing really, and have no answers.]

Its the biggest scam in shipping cars. The F'up your car on purpose then send ya to "their shop" that knows what tiny thing was messed up to get you there, it then cost ya an arm n a leg to get it "fixed"

hit the internet if ya don't belive it. worst part is it happens to allot of service men and women who take cars back n fourth across sea's.
Once it arrives in port its somehow now broken but no fear they got a shop to "fix it".

Well it wasn`t a company that shipped it. It was a friend of my Grandfahter or something that brought it up in his horse trailor. He wouldn`t of messed with the car. There was no reason to. I do know that the car did have the same problem back in Florida and a mechanic fix it there, and it worked. But on arrival my Grandfather parked the car (for 2 years I think), and now it`s mine.. I have a feelling some electrical wires could be pinched or something.. I`m going to look into it before I drop the tank.

Re: Is it The Fuel Pump

Im in the same boat and its ****in annoying. I am no mechanic, but i know basics fundamentals of cars. I just got done replacing all the spark plugs and spark plug wires, it now has more power, but still wants to stall out. Ill be driving, get to a stop sign or light and the RPM's die down really fast and the car will die!

i just dont know wtf to do now?!! My mechanic said its probably the fuel pump. Idk what to do, ive already dumped eough $ into the engine.

Is it difficult to replace a fuel pump, with having no experience doing it before?? or should I leave it to my mechanic?

Re: Is it The Fuel Pump

check the fuel pressure first. that will help for to see if it getting enough fuel. 40-47 psi.
