v6 valves adjustable?
Are the valves in the 84 camaros adjustable? I have a V6 and I don't believe they are, but does anyone know for a fact whether I am right or wrong? Thanks.

Do you mean VVT? (variable valve timing) if that's what you're referring to, then no they are not.

I think he's wondering if the lifters are mechanical or hydraulic. In which case, the answer is that they're hydraulic and don't have to be adjusted for valve lash all of the time. If they're making noise, then I would check my oiling system for a fault or the valves for needing some work.

Ah, could also mean they're just gunked up some, in which case seafoam should do the trick. Anyways, hopefully one of these things answers his question.

Every now and again mine will make some weird like burping sound but i dont know what its from. I put a can of restore in it and thats when it started, then i seafoamed it and it stopped, now its back again, so im not sure..... and even when it does it its just at certain speeds and when its cold on first start, idling down....

RBob.

Book says 1.5 turns, don't go by that far as they will be too tight. The iron head v6 can't have the valve covers off to do the old school method of adjustment while the engine is running since the intake manifolds have to be off for the valve cover removal. I have found 3/4 turn to be perfect, but 1/2 to 1 turn will be fine after zero lash.
If you torque them down, you will have bend pushrods haha.
The late model aluminum heads are torque down since they are pedistal rocker arms, not floating pivots.
