88 2.8 firebird with predator body kit $400

I just bought this, the engine is a little rough but other than that there is not too much rust and the interior is mint except for the seats. The body kit is in good condition, the back is deformed a little bit from the exhaust. The front is missing and i have found the site, the only problem is that the front piece is missing and i cant buy it.

There is a little green toggle switch that I have no idea where it goes to, for some reason when it is flipped the plugs get fouled out and covered in oil.

When i drove it home it drove fine other than the driver side brake freezing up. Other than that it handled fine.

The only other thing is that the engine is high mileage and needs to be replaced sooner or later, im either looking at just building a new 2.8 with some basic performance enhancements like cams, polishing, and some dress up parts. Or doing a 3.4

Nice car! I do like the body kit too, to to in your face or crazy. It looks like something that came out of the 80's so it fits the car well.
Like the TA hood too, I've wanted to get one of those for my V6 for a while but haven't been able to find any local.

Re: 88 2.8 firebird with predator body kit $400

I had that kit for a few years. You're missing 3 pieces up front. Probably easier to just use regular TA gfx up front. Might even look good.

What's the spoiler from?

$400.... So much for "collector value".

It's a 60/6 there's no such thing as a 60/6 that needs replaced.
Rebuilt, maybe, replaced, not likely,lol.

Yes there is it's called the early 2.8s with the small crank journals . The cranks in the early 2.8s are prone to breaking .

Re: 88 2.8 firebird with predator body kit $400

Yeah I would keep it and freshen it up or do a hybrid or 3.4 swap . I may get a 6.0 for a Lsx swap or freshen my 2.8 up or do a 3.4 swap . I have to many options to chose from .

Re: 88 2.8 firebird with predator body kit $400

If it is wore out and in need of rebuild look for a 3.4 to drop in and use your intake from bottom to top with the 3.4 injectors IIRC and it will run fine . I once built a 2.8 from bottom to top all new parts and had the heads checked and all that and with all new parts other than the heads and block and the sheet metal parts and carb and intake and I reused the harmonic dampner and the flexplate . I had about $1,100 to $1,200 in it afterwards .

you should consider dropping a bigger engine ... a 5.0 or 5.7 would be nice..

with a 3.1 all you need is to reuse the throttle body 3.1 is just a bored 2.8 with a different IAT and TPS sensor plug. IIRC

I really like the spoiler so no chance of getting rid of it for cheap.

ouch 1,800 for that motor wont work well on a poor mans budget. I think im just going to make this into a nice looking cruiser. If i want to go fast ill just jump on my fully restored 1984 kawasaki GPZ 750 turbo. That thing is scary fast for how old it is.

Really just to smooth it out a bit since its so rough to start with, id probably do the finer sanding and polishing by hand. Id really like to try this since its winter and i have the stuff off the car right now. The only thing holding me back is figuring out the best way to go at it.
