Trannie puke?

I was driving a delivery the other day (haha, yes, I'm a pizza delivery boy, and my bird has to wear a Domino's dunce cap all the while, shaddup), and my engine started smoking, REALLY bad. Thinking I had a fire, I screeched to a hault, grabbed the blanket that usually hides my amp, popped the hood, and found just a puke-puddle of tranny fluid all over my egr and passenger side exhaust manifold (causing the smoking). My dipstick was not in the tube at the time, but is it possible for the tranny to eject fluid all the way up the tube like that? I mean, I see some hot chicks when I'm out on my runs, but I didn't think a car could get quite THAT excited! For real though, is this normal?

Thanks ahead.

LOL @ the car getting excited!

I suppose if the trans was overfilled that could happen, but man, the trans would really have to be overfilled! Usually excess fluid bubbles out the vent tube on the top center of the 700r4's case.

You could re-ask this in the transmission/drivetrain message board...

You may have a clogged vent (top side of tranny, behind bell housing). I had an old TH350 tranny do that nonsense for a while... it was really interesting!

Will that hurt the tranny in the long run? I remmeber what you're talking about, and I don't think I could get to it unless I dropped it again, and I REALLY don't want to do that. Thanks for the tip, at least it explains what happened....
