fuel filter

I disconnected my fuel pump fuse to relieve the pressure of the fuel system to change my filter, and after 5 minutes of letting it run it didnt die. How long am I supposed to leave it running?

Where was the fuse you pulled? I've always undone the filter and never bothered to depressurize anything.

Well I don't think you have to pull any filter out, the way I did it was I unplugged my fuel pump, and then started the car till it died. Pulling the fuse doesn't do much, but I still pulled it just incase there was a short when I unpluged the fuel pump just so I wouldn't risk F****ing it up incase of a short.

i just turn the car off, no key in ignition.. the pump doesnt have power then, and releave pressure at the schrader valve on the fuel rail behind the intake.. (looks like a tire valve with a metal cap on it..)
