2.8l Rev out

I have an 86 Camaro with a 2.8l v6, it starts up with no problems and runs great except for one problem.....

While driving I cannot give it too much gas or the throttle suckes wide open and revs the car out. I then must turn the ignition off and get out of the car and "unstick" the throttle by hand. I have sprayed cleaner inside the throttle body and attempted to clean it however it still has the same symptoms.

Has anyone had this happen to them before and if so can you give me any advice?

Re: 2.8l Rev out

I had this happen a short while ago and it was because the clamp at the input of the throttle body was at the wrong angle and the hex screw was interfering with the throttle linkage. I loosened it, rotated it as far as it would go (there's a slot in it that limits travel), tightened it up and the problem was gone.
