Exhaust System

I have a 3.1 V-6 91 Camaro RS and I was wondering about an exhaust system.. My muffer, pipes, everything is stock. In the next month, I'll probably have around $250 to put into an exhaust system for my car. Should I get a Flowmaster 80's series or some other system? Basically, I want the car to sound louder and deeper, like an irritated v-8. Should I put headers on too? Just keep in mind I'm on a budget. The absolute most I can put into the system is $350. Thanks guys.

Well, the news about the headers sucks...but I would love to get dual exhaust on the baby. I definitely want to keep my 2 tips..rectangular and diagonally cut chrome tips.. They look wicked. If the kit is only $160...then I should be able to afford it even with the labor cost added on. The money I'm putting into the exhaust system is my birthday money...otherwise it'd take me about 4-6 months to scrape up that much. When you're 16 and only make 5.40 an hour, options are few. Thanks again man.

800-888-8892 Don's Hot Rod Shop out in Tuscon AZ. He sells pipes and mufflers & Cat convertors.
The convertors he sell are those high price things, but he sell them for $60! 2 1/2" in-n-out.
Spend ya dough on making a better pipe from the exhaust manifolds to the CC. That bend looses lots of HP.
I want to find abetter pipe for that area, myself. I'll bet that'll free up to atleast 10 HP. I laready have a decent exhaust on my ride.
No true need for the duals. Honest. Dual tips, SURE, Dual pipe exit outta the back, SURE. I have that & I like the look, too!
Give this guy a call. He also sells Flowmasters & all other brands. He also sells pipes, too. Have it shipped an you assemble!

there is a good thread down the page a little about exhaust and sound. basically it will come down to personally preference...and i would have to agree i don't see where true duals would be benefical. i am running a hooker aerochamber on my 3.1 and love the sound....check it out.

Hey SAE, could you email me that mp3? The mp3 either a)won't play at all for me, or b)crashes my computer.

My email is CallMeMrNixon@aol.com

Thanks..I'd like to hear how that sounds.
