V6 Lowering

V6 Lowering
Are there V6 specific lowering springs? So when you buy springs you have to buy a set for a V6. Meaning lowering springs from a V8 won't work? Or can lowering springs from a V8 work for our cars? Obviously the V8 front end wieghs more but will the springs still work? Thanks

this will probably get sent to appearance, but the rear springs should work, as for the front, either compress the springs, or get the ever reasonably priced drop spindles.

I would have to agree with Project: 85 2.8 bird, if you get lowering springs for the back it should work just fine.... since the weight in the back is the same. And I believe that going with Drop spindles work... let us know how it goes

Firebird90, if you call your car dirty, I hate to see what you'd call mine! (Filthy?)
Hey was that 1" drop "just" with the V8 lowering springs? I've been considering replacing my 223,000+ mile springs with new ones, the originals have gotta be worn to hell, and I'm sure it's affecting my cornering ability. So if I can get a 1" drop with new springs, that'd be great! (Ever since I totalled my car, the gap between the front tires and front fender has always seemed HUGE... don't know why. The car was re-welded to spec.)
Thanks!

Hey Tom,
Its a 1' drop in spings and 2" drop with spindles. The car has settled its .25" lower then the picture.
My car doesn't move much, maybe twice a Month. While is in the garage it collects all the dust. Plus its black....

Yes they do make springs specifically for the V6. Suspension Technologies makes them part number 60115(82-92) They also have 1 3/8 anti sway bar front and 1 inch rear. 1 inch front and rear. I do not have the preice, I have to call my supplier to get it. But I can get better then 30 percent off on them!. Email me if you are interested and I will call my supplier.
