Re: What did you do to your v6 today ?
Today I got 80lbs injectors and a 450lph walbro fuel pump all E85 compliant, for my little V6.
I though my prior 48lbs and 255lph walbro were big for a V6 which i will add i was maxing both of them out prior with pump gas. I wounder how many people out there are running 80lbs injectors in a little thirdgen v6....lol

Those 48lb injectors are going to fit nice and snug in my car. For anyone looking into a turbo build I will have practically brand new 36 lb injectors for sale soon. Literally have 150 miles on them, I also have an extra log header too lol

So now waiting until tuesday. too bad, they were nice and chrome-y, compared to my dull curb-rashed dented originals.
My kids and I put a coat of sealer on the car, painting last wheel today. wax tomorrow.

Changed the oil and added antifreeze. And installed the new trim rings on the wheels. they are not 100% correct, but they look nice and shiny.

Re: What did you do to your v6 today ?
Went to a car show today, first time I participated in 18 years. Here are some pics, with my daughter. She is my chief assistant mechanic.
I didn't win a trophy, but then I didn't think I would. My class was 1980 - 1988 GM Stock, and there were 3 beautiful original Buick GNs, that won all the prizes. Well deserved, too. I did manage to get some compliments on how my car looked, and some comments about how you rarely see any nice V6 cars anymore.
I got a nice sunburn, but all-in-all, a good time was had by all.

Fixed my door pannel with gorilla tape !! Sooo much better thanks again for the tip! Also ordered arms for hood and hatch and 20 lugnut covers, as well as a new bumper cover being mine is cracked. Now just have to repaint replace injectors, fuel pump, and weather stripping and i think i have fixed almost everything.

I made a small stainless bracket to pull the semi solid hydraulic clutch hose away from the header.
Then I took out the wierd metal heater pipe from under the thermostat and back of alternator to weld up the throttle body feed . Replaces the u turn rubber hose and Cleans the engine bay up some more.

We'll my mom has stage 4 cancer which has been a battle. Needless to say everything is on hold right now because between 60+ hr work weeks and my mom I haven't gotten a chance to tune it more. Although I did drive it and tune it 2 weeks ago. But it's not ready to race just yet. Dialing in e85 was definitly fun. But it needs some more tuning to make it down the track safely.

Thanks you it means alot. Cancer sure is a ruthless disease. It hard to see her going though this. But going out and working on the car is one of the best stress relievers there is,at least for me. Hopefully I get it tuned better this weekend so I'll be at the track on the following Sunday tearing up some v8s.. lol

I removed, cleaned up, repainted and re-installed the rear heat shields in preparation for the new muffler. The whole exhaust system was done badly, and needs to be replaced.

wow that is detail !
finally managed to get the headers and exhaust all in position clamped up and done, heated o2 wired up, removed wooden block holding trans up and put mount back up, played with fittings to move an oil sensor around to clear the new exhaust.
just gota put some electrics back on top and hope it fires .

After running it I drained the oil and coolant, the oil actually isnt that bad but cant hurt to put new stuff in, fitted new filter too.
Piece of mind for a bit.

After finally getting the car done with the new hood fitted, it was decided my car would be driven on the move to florida, unfortunately my car didn't make it... well completely together anyways Driving down the highway at 70mph and woosh half of my hood rips off and flies like a saucer to the shoulder. $900 down the drain.

Re: What did you do to your v6 today ?
I removed the washer tank and used a smaller aftermarket overflow bottle. I removed the CCP canister and placed the overflow behind the headlight on the driverside. My ultimate plans are a total wire tuck. Relocation of the fuel rails and repainting the engine bay. I'm a total engine bay cleanliness freak. I've never done a V6 before so this has been fun.

Re: What did you do to your v6 today ?
Hood was brand new, arrived damaged and company that i bought it from screwed me out of my replacement so i had this one repaired, very unhappy, might have it repaired by a glass shop with steel braces inside of the hood, buying a plain sport coupe hood temporarily.
and yes it was odd, the hood blew off and i pulled over and got out and there wasn't a ingle car behind me for what seemed to be a mile, and then there was a huge wall of traffic, almost like someone was holding traffic back.

Washed the car yesterday. Took it for a quick ride and... code 54 is back! Gotta take it back to the shop this morning, and see if they warranty their work. Only a month old, so I hope so.

stock 1986, FI. they diagnosed the problem, tested the wire from the ECM to relay as okay, so it must be the ECM. They replaced it for $400. Hopefully under warranty.

The car runs, but takes a while to start first time when cold. After that, it runs ok, but gets horrible mileage. Might be unrelated though.
Right now at the shop, just waiting for a call back.
