Re: V6 Timing belt or chain

The only 60 degree V6 to ever have a belt was the DOHC, and even then it still uses a chain between the crank and the timing belt that drives the 4 cams.

Re: V6 Timing belt or chain

Does anyone care to outline timing cover changes over the years (of covers that would feasibly work on a RWD iron 3400.) Did the S10 use the same 2.8 timing cover as the third gen? Was there a revised one with cam and crank sensors that would work on the longitudinal 28/31/3400 engines?
Thanks.
