ECM Removal

Since i cant get anywhere with chip tuning i may try another route. If im removing all of the emissions equipment and NOT running the stock computer controlled carb do i need the ECM for anything? Based on what ive read its completely useless unless youre running the stock setup but id like to verify that i wont run into any issues half way through this project. Thanks

Re: ECM Removal

Mc solenoid for idle won’t work as well as timing control. Why not leave emissions intact?

Neither of those are a concern since i can easily swap everything over to a traditional carb and distributor setup. The emissions system is completely shot. Literally every single part of it is broken on the car and theres absolutely no way im going through the hassle of replacing it and getting it to work since its over complicated and useless. On top of that i have mod plans that simply wont work well with the stock setup anyway.
