Wow, what a great price. When you get them installed please tell me what modifications had to be done to make the Y-pipe. Good job.

True duals whoulf HURT our engines. we do not move enough exhaust gas frop duals to be benificial.

And to the EGR thing, No they will not have them cause Hedman did not make them with the EGR hook up. So if you have to get smoged, you automatically fail.

Glad I posted them on the board, and that someone could afford them. Good luck with them man.

that is true hunter

i'm not concerned with a true dual exhaust

but i do want to keep my EGR, not for smog reasons, but because of beneficial reasons i have learned

so i am going to do 1 of 2 things

cut a whole in the primary and weld the EGR thingy on there

or get an exhaust splitter from summit, put it behind the collector and run a pipe or hose from that to the EGR valve

#2 will be least effective

but #1 will be the hardest to do

any thoughts?

EGR is simple.
I think Edelbrock had that on their headers (V-8 style).
Buy the part from them
They Edelbrock also makes the pipe from engine to CC, too.
Get it from their S-10 Blazer pipe kit.
SLP also has these items and I'll bet they are closer to you.
BUT NO SMOG LEGAL 3rd gen headers exist.
So it'll always be changed to pass smog.
Sucks, but, part of the fun.
Good score.

thanx karl

so my idea of running a seperate pipe doesnt sound to bad eh?

i figure i can get an open exhaust converter pipe thingy and put that in series with the exhaust and then run a pipe from the opening to the EGR valve........sound cool?

Teal, I am thinking since mine did not come with gaskets or bolts, they probably sell them for the S-10 blazers that have the same heads as us, you know the heddman, edelbrock 2.8 headers for s-10's.

I cant wait to get mine installed when she's out of storage. I'm sure the sound will be better than before, hopefully not too V6ish. Let me know what you did to make it fit the cat too please. Thanks

I've seen an EGR added both ways. I found a set of headers (forget from who) which had the EGR coming off the collector. They ran the EGR tube all the way up alongside the primary pipes, where it came up by the engine. I asked a while ago on the Exhaust board about this, and a guy said that he tapped an EGR directly off one of the primaries. Hey- here's my old message. I didn't think it'd pull up: https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...threadid=15412

Congrats on the buy, by the way!!

Keep it simple.
ALL YA NEED TO DO TO USE THE EGR set up is duplicate what you already have.
IN FACT, it's MUCH WISER to look at how others have done this (intergrate an EGR set up on the tubes) to figure out how to adapt your.
And the headers to CC?
EASY
look at other F-Body V-8 set ups.
HONEST, it's not that it's a no brainer, but, cheat, look at how others attacked this same problem.
Especially the 3rd gen V-8 headers visuals.
Get an Edelbrock/SLP catalog or try to look at their stuff on their website.
Gaskets are easy, too.
FELPRO-800-831-0884 (Northern Auto Parts).
I placed felpro on my stock manifold set up when my manifold cracked & I replaced it.
Very simple to find that part.
AND the header bolts?
I'll bet SBC bolts work fine.
OR
Contact ARP in Oxnard, CA for their parts!
OR HILLCO ask for Jack
I'll be back checking website.

www.hillcofasteners.com

THEY ARE SUPERB & GOT ALL THE STUFF YOU WANT IN BOLTS!
PS it helps to have the type of thread you've got to use (metric, what size, etc. Go to hardware store and find the nut that threads onto the bolt you bring in-write down answer-tell them!)
Try to reach, by email, Billie or Jack Hill.
THEY ARE SUPERB!
