Re: Getting XXR 521 on thursday
rear rim is 18x10.5 tire size is 285/35/18 fronts are 18x9.5 with 275/35
reason why they look stretch is because tire has curb rim protection so it gives a illusion that its stretch due to extra rubber that is near the rim edge to protect form curb damage
Every tire is different and total widths vary from tire to tire you can get better idea when you go to tirerace nd compare different tires of the same size no 2 are the same

Re: Getting XXR 521 on thursday
Its hard to tell what they'd look like without them being on the car, or the very least another black car.. Your car specifically i think was the only camaro I've seen with the 521s. I like the design quite a bit, only fall back is I'm not fond that its a universal Lug Pattern rim. The GunMetal looked great on your car.. I feel like the Lip is too large for the Gloss Black w/ Polished Lip to look good and not overbearing.. So I would be deciding over the Flat Black or Flat GunMetal.. Also would the Center Caps have fit if you stayed with the 1.25" Spacer up front? Or were they a lost cause in all regards.
Here's my car below.. excuse the Dirt lol

plasti dip is good product to change wheel color that isnt permanent
I dont like the machined lip or chrome lip im a big fan of blk lip and gunmetal center or tinted brushed center
front caps wont fit om the front with that said its really close to fit have to play with the dust cap but I never really played with it much
look at nlmmotoring they have different colors
onlt reason I changed wheels was due to my bordom and wanting to try something different now thinking changing the wheels again and xxr 521 are easy to go back to and get easy but idk yet im looking into the xxr 531 in all black or go back to xxr 521 or the varrstoen ES1 bbslm replica
my wife wants me to put the 521 back on lol

The gunmetal or all blk would look good IMO cant go wrong with either I would be bias towards the gunmetal

Thanks to you i know the fronts will fit. My Concern mainly now is that I have a late model 4th gen rear end in the car.. So it sticks out a bit further with the stock iroc rims on it now. And I wonder whether or not the rims will fit back there. I think they will

Yea idk about that since 4th gen rear is 2" wider and with stock rear I used 1" adapter so theres a issue there honestly idk I would suggest get stock length rear end and you like the 4th gen posi and disc swap it over

Re: Getting XXR 521 on thursday
my rear end is decently built up so its not something i can exactly just downgrade. motor puts out around 409hp/420tq.
-Built Rear Differential-
*10bolt POSI out of 99SS Camaro LS1
*Auburn POSI Unit
*Richmond 3.73 Gears
*Timken Bearings
*T/A Racing Aluminum Diff Cover
*Bearing Preload Adjusters
*Welded Tubes
*Side Load Stabilizers
*Moser Axles
*Upgraded LS1 Rear Rotors & Calipers
On a 4th gen site i found this for a 99 firebird "In the back, you can use as large as a 7.93" backspace, which corresponds to the ZR1 replica with the GS offset - 50mm, on a 17x11 wheel. That will require some inner fender massaging though."
the XXR521 rims are 25mm Offset and 6.83Backspacing.. so i think it should work.. but idk

Re: Getting XXR 521 on thursday
Cant go off 4th gen specs because the wheel well in relation to 3rd gen there are some differences stock 4th gen can fit much wider I believe up to 315 with no modification where as 3rd gen you will need to modify the inner wheel well
Only way to tell is to do some measuring you might be ok but would be close I used a 1.25 adapter in rear amd was rubbing the rear fender even with lip rolled

Curious, why did you use adapters? I'm looking around and people are fitting 5x120s on our bolt pattern without adapters

Re: Getting XXR 521 on thursday
Hub clearance and strut clearance for front with 10in width
Check the pics in the thread
rears I think you don't need spacer
I wanted to keep front and rear track near the same also
Its not the bolt pattern I got the adapters for im aware you can bolt up the 120 bolt pattern to ours
go to local wheel store they should have wheels in stock that you can test fit

Re: Getting XXR 521 on thursday
Hey Zach, I just bought a set of XXR 521 wheels.
These to be exact: http://www.nlmotoring.com/XXR-521-Wh...p/52180432.htm
They are XXR 521 with a +12 offset and a 3.5" lip, flat black in color, so what exactly did you need to make these fit? What size spacers did you run on front and back? Did you use hubcentric rings? I have a 4th gen rear end so it sticks out a bit, but I like that stance. Thanks for your time sir
^^^Literally everything I asked right above me. Haha
So the 4th gen rear end is concerning me, they are ordered already, but I do like that they stick out. I guess we'll see what happens

Re: Getting XXR 521 on thursday
When I got mines they only had 25mm offset or 20mm IIRC looks like tgey added more selection s
the 12mm offset is more ideal and direct bolt on besides the front unless you upgrade brakes which pushes front track out from .3" to .6" depending on hub and brakes used
for front you prob need a spacer too clear front hub but not as big as mines you prob need around .70" depending on how tuck or flush you wanted
you wouldnt need spacer for rear due to 4th gen rear
I had to use 1.25 " front 1" rear spacer
If u used hub centric rings get aluminum ones not plastic
I used hub/wheel centric wheel adapter
Becareful as some wheel adapter the hubcentric kind wont clear hub due to design like majority of ebay ones you need to get non hub centric
Ive used motorsport-tech adapters hub and wheel centric and fit really good
Are you planing brake upgrade ?

Cool that is good to hear. I already have a 2" spacer on my stock front wheels to counter the stance of the 4th gen rear end. And no, not as of now at least. I am planning on doing a LSX swap later this year, so break upgrade will be happening, but not for a while. And I got the confirmation email that the wheels have shipped!

You bet I will. I'm going to put them on the car w/o tires and measure around so I can get the perfect look that I want considering I am very low. What size tires did you run front and rear?

Re: Getting XXR 521 on thursday
well, after 3 years of sitting in the basement I'm looking at finally putting my xxr 521's on. problem is I got them three years ago when I thought I liiked the staggered width's,
What kinda of spacer would you recommend for the 18x 8.5 with I believe +25. I have the 18x10 rears which i plan on running a 295/40/18. and a 1 inch spacer from what I've read in this thread.

Re: Getting XXR 521 on thursday
Rear tire would be taller than stock
I would try just fitting wheel on might need a slip on spacer but depends in how tuck or flush you want them so you have room to play with for spacer sizing up front

Re: Getting XXR 521 on thursday
Bumping up to top for you guys been receiving alot of pm's
When I got mines they only came with +25 offset
I had stock front brakes at the time so I used 1.25 spacer/adapter in front and 1" spacer/ adapter in rear but you can bolt on with no adapter , I wanted to match front track width tho so I used rear adapter, you can also use a small slip on in rear also just depends on the tuckage you want
now they have a +12 offset now
If your running stock brakes you need atleast a .70" adapter
if you running ls1 brakes you can subtract .30" from that to account for added track from brakes if your want real brakes lol and get 4 piston brembos subtract additional .60"
Rear will bolt on stock or
4th gen rear ( you want be tucking tires at all
+12 will be attractive to people who don't wish to run big adapters (even tho there not that big compared to the 2" ones for corvette wheels ) and or have big brake upgrade
I ran 285/35 tires all around
There is room for 295 but will lose some turning radius rubbing full lock
And there 18x10 on all for corners
Will free to post or ask any questions and Pm's are welcomed lol
Thanks guys

Super old post, but I currently have a third gen Trans am. Going to be putting these wheels on it with the fitment you gave, a 285/35/18 all around. Had a question about the wheel, if you can’t remember, unless you still run them. I noticed you didn’t put the center cap on the wheels, was that preference or did the hub hit?

Re: Getting XXR 521 on thursday
I'm going to be running 1LE hubs and slip on rotors up front, so I don't believe that I'll need a spacer with the +25 wheel. Can anyone confirm?
