11.09 @ 125.8 - new best

Well just got home from track and am very happy with new results.
Though traction kept me from getting what I really wanted - but hey
Today I removed 1.5% fuel from 5800-6400 and also changed lock up speed from 105 to 108 MPH.
I was rewarded with 11.09 @ 125.85 then all the other passes I spun with the last being 11.10 with 1.65 60ft. so had I had that 1.55 60ft - who knows, day over.
Looks like its time for a tire upgrade.
As always on street tires and pump gas.

Thank you! well the 60 ft is where the car is hurting.
Little 3000 stall is just not far enough into torque range.
Peak torque is 4700.. But its a street car soo....

very nice job!
Thanks you 305 - Very nice job to you as well! 10.6 flyin.

Thats insane! I pretty much want to duplicate your combo.. theres just something about a naturally aspirated street car that hauls a$$ like that. It cant be argued with.

I got a new best today aswell My wimpy 305 hit 13.65@103.5, 2.22 60 foot n/a

good day for racing today huh

Congrats, you have great combo for strip/street.
Not many NA cars around that have good street
manners but can dip into the 10's. What kind of
cooling system do you have and have you done any-
thing to the rear end to make it live.

Thanks Cork,
I may try to come there , I was there once and it was a very unenjoyable experience.
Traction was terrible until after 3 hrs of racing (my 8" wide E/T are suffering) and they only ran 1/8 mile after I drove 4 hrs to get there.
What days do they race?
I really want to go to MIR though, I think they race till december.

Hmm, two posts starting off identical. This one is civil and yet the other is not. It is very interesting to compare the two.

I have been wanting to know the whole time if you could explain thoose changes in detail. Did you remove the fuel from the ve or PE? What made you to decide to change lockup. I thought it was better to have the converter unlocked for racing.?

I make all my fuel adjustment in the VE. Some may argue that point but the way i see it, I never want to be at 4500rpm+ and not be in PE. It makes it easier to see the curve of your WOT to me.
Well converter Lockup depends on your combo and HP/TQ.

Disabling Lock up on my converter put me to far past peak power at the end of 1320.
This way you can actually pass over peak 4 times in the 1/4 mile.
What I set up mine to do is Lock @ approx 5100, there for when it locks it drops Rpm right to the Torque peak of 4800.
Actaully that was the best gain I have made is when I figured out my converter was locking @ 4400 and dropping R's to 4100 Therefor bogging car in 3rd gear. So first I changed to 4900 then to 5100.
I can't believe I never really noticed that untill just a few wks ago.
Ohh well, its all a learning experience.

P.S.- Glenn, see why I post this in the Prom board.
Just trying to help out fellow prom tuners.

Exactly, But if you make the change to do that take note of PW through RPM band first so you can match it later.

so you flatline the af vs rpms to 0? And this would be the 100kpa row that your changing? ?Coul you post a snapshot of your ve table? What I did is keep the a/f ratio vs rpm table stock, just removed/added fuel via VE tables.

And had that other post REMAINED primarily eprom tuning oriented it would have remained on the DIY Prom Board. Instead, it became something that had NO PLACE on DIY Prom and, frankly, no place on TGO.

I agree 100% with that statement
But you said it never belonged there in the first place,
that is what I disagreed with.
I personally think it should have been removed to not have that floating around in every search query that somebody does.
Had I been able to lock the post my self, I would have soon as it started sour.

Well I don't know, The only way I know how to is use the print screen feature and paste in paint.. but the file is always wayy to big even if I reduce size by half.
I could e-mail it to you though.
