Factory pics during 3rd gen years PART II
Hey all,
here's a taste of what's to come soon. Truckload of IROCs outside Norwood on 6-20-1987, ready for delivery. Hard to tell in this pic but they are all missing the front lowermost fender skirt which I guess gets applied later so they don't scrape going on or off the truck.
I have dozens of pictures to share, mostly Norwood and mostly outside the factory. I will post them ASAP.
Courtesy of David M .. huge props going out to David.

I was just wondering, how many of those cars in that pic do you think have been put through the crusher and been reborn as something else?
Nice picture, kizz!!!
Hi kizz!
That's a great shot of those cars (even though they are Camaros-Ha)!
Just to let you know, when I got my 1989 20th Anniversary Turbo Trans Am (I bought new, #231), it came without the air dam and the intercooler scoop attached for that reason! No scrapeing. I had to wait at the dealership for my car to be cleaned, a full tank of gas put in, and for those items to be installed! The dealership gave me the whole package of literature that they were to fill out, and send back to GM, showing everything ready for the customer to recieve his car!
Did you know, that back then, the cars were recieved by the dealership with no ignition fuse! It was in a small blue color cardstock, hanging on the rearview mirror! My dealership even gave that to me (I use it at car shows!) I guess that was for the cars not to be stolen.
I left the dealership with plastic still attached to the seats (I took off the steering wheel plastic). I still have them!
So, where are the Firebirds and Trans Ams??? Ha!
Have a good one,
George

First Car, left hand side of the lot is a black camaro, maybe an IROC, Wierd thing is, look at the rest of the lot, everything else is so old and outdated looking, that thing looks modern still today. Am I the only one who thinks our cars were ahead of their times?
EDIT: Im not up on all my camaro knowledge, but the IROC is the one with the grill with the fog lights rite? cause it looks like that grill, but it has no lower lip (like the ones on the truck) Maybe there is a load of blakc ones to go on the next trailer to the left of the camera
..oh yeah, are there more pics coming?

Yup, they were ahead and still are.
They were meant to be. Nothing looks like them, and IMO there never will be a car that will even come close. That car looks to be an 82-84 Z28.

[B]First Car, left hand side of the lot is a black camaro, maybe an IROC, That first car on the left was an '82-'84 Z28. And if you look close next to the Cavalier wagon theres another '82-'84 Z28 in either Charcoal or Black.
This carrier was staged by Ryder for the U.S.C.C. during their National meet in 1987 in Norwood. Many thanks to Ryder for doing this for us! There are two more shots of this carrier, one front 3/4 and one rear 3/4. We'll see if we can get them up for all to see.
