Valve springs for LT1

I just got an LT1 cam off ebay. Now I know the stock springs won't be good for it. What springs would you recomend. Also should I put the cam in or should I do the cam, heads and manifold. The latter two I have not purchased yet. I'd do all three at same time. Just worried that if something isn't right after I am done(which always seems to be the case) there would be less to look at. I have yet to ever change a cam heads or manifold.

Thanks in advance,

Chris

I've got my LT1 cam and my manifold now. This spring/summer I'm planning on installing them. I too am wondering what springs and other things to use.

I've heard that the K-motion kit that cost $43 dollars at www.jegs.com is the good choice for us. I'm planning on getting those and the umbrella type valve guide seals.

I've also beening wondering what vavle sping compressor to get. Should I just get the cheap lever type deal, or get the one that mounts on the stud and looks much more easy to use.

Here is a link to the springs I'm thinking about, I'm not sure if they are the right ones though. Should the retainers be replaced with new ones?

These are the umbrella seals I want. The street ones.

I have the LT1 cam also. I'm at least gonna do the intake manifold when I put mine in. If I actually do put it in. I'm a c' hair away from getting my 355 done, so I may not bother.

The stock LT1 redlined ~5700 RPM, and I remember reading a lot of guys running them to ~6200 after reprogramming the eprom.

I would think that the stock heads will still run out to 5500 RPM OK since the LT1 cam isn't really that aggressive. It's way better than the stock cam, but by no means is it radical.

It all comes down to how many times you feel like taking the **** apart.
