pleae help locating another thread
I've used the site search as well at google to try and find this thread but I can't it was about hooking up one of the dash lights to tell you when your fans were on or off.
I'm about to do this exact thing. I know its not complicated. I mainly want the part about making the light say "fan" and in what font, etc. so that it looks stock

I don't see the point, I can pretty much tell when it's on. But this does sound like an interesting mod anyways. So I am subscribing. If you can make the "Fan" light look stock, you could pretty much make the light say anything! And that's pretty cool.
