Re: need help hooking up a T56 speedo

This is all the info I found on the box.

http://www.atrol.com/era.htm

As it sits it wont do the job by itself as the site lists Hot, GRD, input, output

Hot/GRD/output are simple as they are single wires

Input on the other hand will not be so simple as the VSS has both a HI and LO signal

Read this

http://www.skulte.com/T56.html

You PCM wants a 4,000 PPM input and it will direct the outputs to the speedo and cruise accordingly

The list is your SPID sheet. All of the 3 letter codes refers to an option installed from the factory on the car. Whenever someone talks about L98, LB9, LO3, AU3 etc, its off the SPID

Re: need help hooking up a T56 speedo

ahh thanks.
thats the website i needed apparently, although its the cable-x one not ERA.
i found the manual and everything for the correct one.
i do believe i can do it now if i ask what is probably a dumb question, where exactly is the speed sensor?
this is my senior project to learn what i can about cars so i dont know a whole lot yet, especially with the PROMs and electronic sensors and such.

does anyone have like a complete electrical diagram for these cars?
ill do a search tomorrow cuz im busy now but if anybody knows exactly where one is itd be convenient.
theres a buuunch of electrical stuff that doesnt work in my car so im gonna need to hook pretty much everything back up.
it probably screwed it all up when whoever took out the deck and disconnected the alarm.
the hatch switch doesnt work, the brake lights dont work, the alarm isnt hooked up, and the power door locks dont work.

The speedo sensor is in the tailshaft of the transmission on the driver's side.

For your lights that dont work, did you check the fuses first?

Re: need help hooking up a T56 speedo

ok i checked the fuses, and the problem seems to be that the wires to the brake lights are gone.
the stock placement of the brake light fuse no longer has wires.
im guessing he moved them when he put the manual pedal set in, but i have no idea where they are.

ok i just got under the car to look for the speedo sensor, and i couldnt find anything.
the only thing that looked like it might have been it was a little white plastic reverse funnel looking thing.
i should have gotten a picture from under it.

does anyone have a picture of what im looking for?

EDIT: ok scratch all that, i found it.
i put it up on ramps instead of the curb and got a lot better look at it and even some pictures.
as far as i know i just have to get the harness type thing that plugs into it and connect those wires straight to the cable-x box.
sound good or is there another adapter i need to get between the two?
