Knock sensor trouble

If mine isnt working correctly, what kind of symptoms will it give. I have a code 43. My ECM is new.

Any detailed ways to check and see if its bad before I change it? Its the factory sensor.

Car is a 92 Formula, L98.

Easiest way to tell if it needs replacing:

Replace it. If the car runs better and quits throwing the code for it, it was bad.

Your cooling system probably needs the drain & fluch anyway.

If you suspect the wiring or ECM, you can temporarily install a 3.9K ohm resistor in place of the sensor to test your theory, but it's a pain to "rig" it in there.
