Air Conditioning Question
With the A/C on MAX there is a definite drop in the power as the compressor cycles on and off. I really feel it in the lower gears and to some extent in 5th. Is this normal for camaros?? My 89 taurus A/C does not have this problem. What Gives??

Yes you will always feel that. Your Taurus has it too, it just doesn't cycle because its system is a constant displacement with variable bypass, and is full of refrigerant. It takes some significant amount of power to run an A/C, regardless of what brand or age of sheet metal is wrapped around it, so both cars suffer a performance hit with it on.
Your A/C should not ordinarily be cycling on and off, at least not during the day and on Max. Get some Freon put in it and it will quit cycling most of the time, it will work better, and it will simply have the same amount of drag on the motor all the time instead of coming and going.
