msd distributer question

is there any way to wire up an msd distributer without using an ignition box. i have the msd pn 85551. it has two wires coming out of it. if anyone knows how to wire it without a box, please let me know.

The 8551 needs a 6a or better box. It's plug and play, doesn't get any easier. Now they've got a new dist. out that's all self contained but it's around $400. Or you could go with the drop in unit that MSD makes for the HEI. Do you still have fuel injection on the car or are you running a carb with no wiring harness?

easiest is to get ahold of a box. Put 12v to it and plug it into the distributor. Done.
