open diff to posi.......

Car: 90 Z28, 74 Scout II
Engine: healthy 355
Transmission: t-5
Axle/Gears: 4th gen 10 bolt 3.23
open diff to posi.......

I just purchased a posi carrier and was told it would "slap" right in.... now that I have it I don't see any channels for the locking clips.... advice on the process to swap over...????

What do you mean by channels for the locking clips? are you refering to c clips? If so they are on the ends of the axles. As far as slapping right in.. well kinda.. you will need new carrier bearings, new pinion bearings, and new crush sleave or solid spacer and new pinion and cover seals. If reusing the same gears you should be able to use the same shims but you should always measure anyway just in case.

screwed is the truth.... pulled my carrier and I think the 8 bolt ring pattern on the posi is a little different than the 10 I have now, haha, thanks for the help bros

You can get be with reusing the pinion bearings, no sweat. If you are careful pulling them, reusing the carrier bearings isnt out of the question either. However, I dont care what anyone on here will say, i agree with you, you should always measure everything anyway. All parts are made with tolerances. If you dont pull the pinion gear out, no need for a crush sleeve either.

good point, for some reason I had it in my head that he was gonna do a gear swap too..

to the op take a pic of what you got so we can help ya figure out what it is..
