will the LT1 to LT4 conversion kit work on a stock 1990 L98 ?

No. The LT1 and LT4 are reverse cooling, meaning the coolant goes to the heads first, then the block, unlike the SBC (and most everything else) block-first-then-heads. The coolant passages are different between the two types of engines.

What are you trying to accomplish?

Re: LT1 to LT4 conversion kit?

i have a stock 1990 l98 im trying to rebuild my engine with a high performance cam, intake, heads, im tryin to gain at least 100hp&torque with out having too switch to a carb. and i dont want to have to change engines or trannys

Add runners (or just get the upgraded Vortec roller heads & a Holley/Weiand Stealth Ram for Vortec), headers, 1.6:1 rockers, perhaps computer tuning.

SB Chevy Hydraulic Roller Lifter Kit to go wit the hot cam? and what kind of headers do i need?
