Fuel Pump help.

I have a huge problem and i'm looking to the good people of TGO to help. My 1991 Camaro V6 Rs is a fixer upper. Well i thought i had it all fixed up but boy was i wrong. I drove it today and it died. Which isnt out of the ordinary, it dies when it goes for a prolonged time with the accelarated pressed to rev the engine.

When whenever i drive it i get this wine noise from the rear hatch area and to me, the only thing back there that could make it is the fuel pump? well today it died, in an unusual way. Usually when it dies i can just start it up again well now i cant. it turns over and all the electrical work but it acts like it ran out of gas. Which i know is imposible because it has a half a tank. So now i'm thinking the fuel pump went out.

Heres the kicker the fuel pump just got replace 5 months ago and its only seen 1000 miles? Whats the deal? Is there a problem that could make the fuel pump keep going out? I dont want to keep trying to start it over and over, i dont wanna flood the engine and i dont wanna mess up the starter. Please Help Guys.

Re: Fuel Pump help.

fuel filter would be number one. Check that. Cheap pump could be problem. Check also the wiring inside the pump and at the connector for burn marks for poor connections. There is also a breather hooked to tank that mounts to body in front of tank on driver's side. Cheap to replace that little breather. not too uncommon fo pumps to fail.
