PLEASE HELP!!!!!

(before this everything was working fine)I was working on getting my high beam rod back on that little plastic piece. when I touched the rod with needle nose pliers i hit the turn signal lever and that created a spark everything cut off and came back on and right after that my wipers, brake lights, and car charger (cig lighter) stopped working.
I replaced the fuses and everything works fine, however now my car won't start with the key, I had a push start ignition installed a while back, so i connected it and placed my key in the on position and it fired right up???
What could be causing my key to not work????
any help would be great
thanks!maybe a blown fuse?? I've checked all the fuses under the steering wheel.

.
There are reasons why you DISCONNECT the battery when playing with car electrics

So something is wrong with the starter part of Ign switch or wiring to starter from Ign switch
where did you connect the push button to ( which wires )

Re: PLEASE HELP!!!!!

the push button is on the starter wire (purple wire) but it wasn't connected at the time, I only connected it to see if the car would start. it does when the key is turned to the on position. but when i turn the key to start it nothing happens. the car acts as if it were going to start, the radio turns off and the volts go up like it should but it won't crank..any fuses I should check ???
mins before that the key was working

So the pushbutton bypasses all stock starter system.

Need to start at Ign switch , see if you have power on the starter circuit there then follow power until it disappears

Starter circuit get power from same source as Ign and you say that is working fine

Re: PLEASE HELP!!!!!

May want to look at a wiring diagram and see if you have fuseable links also. If you have a OEM alarm you may want to give that a look over as well. It sounds as if your problem is in the exciter wire to the starter. {purple} Whether it be a starter relay, fuseable link, ign. fuse, something like that. Sounds like you somehow jammed that metal rod into the ign switch or bare wiring in that area ? Maybe the ign switch itself has the exciter wire burnt off ? Put the key in the crank position and see if the exciter wire has electric in it coming out of the switch {test light}. The power to crank the engine should be in the switch and when you rotate the key into the crank position all your doing is transfering electric from one connector to another within the ign switch. If everything else is working it's almost safe to assume the power is in the ign switch but ck anyway to be 100% sure. Sometimes wires burn off when you short them out. Sometimes switches get burnt out internally when you short them out.

Re: PLEASE HELP!!!!!

The first thing that came to mind was a fuse able link. I have done lots of work with the battery hooked up its like dangerous.
