I'm on the fence. I would like to see hot it performs with the fast burn heads and a decent cam before I buy, but if it performs, I'm all ears!

Cool, we'll have to get together sometime. Find out a price for the baseplate and let me know, if we could knock 50 bucks off their price it would be great.

Hey Tas,

Well, you know me...I'm pretty much CPU illeterate...and when we switched to Earthlink from AsOLow, I did have the instant messenger thing working pretty good, then the wife started using Earthlink, and now, I can only get IM under her account, even when I'm logged on under my name.

I dunno, they say these things are designed to work easily for pre-teens, guess that's my problem...I turn 40 in a few months

How about a price WITH the Vortec - High Performance Assembled Heads. What else is necessary for this conversion? Do Vortecs use the same roller rockers as L98 heads (self guided)?

Hey Boys! I was interested in the fastburn heads with the baseplate. My question is how good a combo would this be with my factory stock 305 in my '92Z. It's factory rated at 205HP. Would any of you boys know much of a HP increase the engine would get? All responses welcome and thanks!

This is funny. I haven't been around for a while. I was going to ask if this thing was ever made when I saw this. Just when I thought it was just a rumor :-)

The fast burn heads come with the standard and vortech intake blot patterns. If you are going to use fastburns there is no need for a special base.

A standard intake will bolt on, but I believe you still need the intake if you want the raised intake runners of the fastburn heads to line up correctly. It will work, it just wont flow as well. I could be wrong, though.

The Vortec only uses 4 bolts per side in the corners and they go straight down.

The intake ports are quite a bit taller, making them incompatible with a conventional intake.

The fast burn heads will not work with the standard base I have fast burn heads on my car to get it to work I had to weld a 1/2 in bead around the out side of the base then reserfice it and then port it out to the fast burn head ports it can be done very easy but if you have to pay a machine shop it will cost almost 150 for the port work and the reserficing of it and if you have to pay some one for the weld job thats evevn more money I use to do this mod and sell the base with exchange for 150 but poeple started to loose intrest in the vortec heads or just wanted to wait for sdpc's base to come out I cant wait to get thair base on a dino agenst the one I modified. So far I only have 5 poeple that definitly want to be in on this we need 5 more to make the order so if you havnt e-mailed me to be put on the list pleas do this as soon as posible and I as soon as we get ten I will e-mail every one with the info on how to order it.

I have a 350 that I plan on converting to tpi. I am working out the deal with a guy to buy the tpi system. I am not quite sure what year it is. It has the heads that take the center bolt valve covers. I was wondering how do I tell what kind of heads they are and what kind of intake I have to use. Thanks for your help.

well.... Their 400bucks. If 10 people buy than how much cheeper will they get? I'm intrested, I just need to also save up for the vortec heads so that the intake is actually going to prove use full. I'm sure after this set up with a good cam and exhaust along with my chip should put me in the high 13's low 14's. But the heads and intake are almost a grand. So, how much od a discount are we talking if 10 peeps buy?

By the way, I'm Stk350 on the CamaroZ28 message board if you need to get ahold of me.

I'm interested, I was also looking at vortec heads.

Let me know if we can get a better deal if we buy heads too.

Talked with SDPC today they said they are nolonger offering free shiping fom e-net orders they also asked me to get a list of additanal parts that will be orders at the same time as the base nomater how small gaskets any thing you may need to do the change they said that they will take all of this in consideration and may lower the price even more so if you are planning on getting heads ,cam or even a hole engine at time of sale I need to know. I also need to know how soon you plan on ordering they will not ship until they have a order of ten. As of now we only have seven.we may be able to get them to over look this if you are buying heads and other stuff at same time.so depending on the total sale will depend on how much of a discount we get.The more we spend the better the over all discount will be.So send we a list of every thing you are going to order I will then call them up and get a price for each order individualy both regular and sale price.

Put me down for the manifold and vortec heads. I was planning on doing it, so now I just have to mentally prepare to part with some of my savings.

I would go for a manifold in the 350 range of needed:-)

What kind of deals would they give people who got the modifed head for 525 lift, intake, and LT4 hotcam and 1.6 rockers and accompanying gaskets and bolts at the same time?

Can we get a price on a complete LT4 Vortec TPI swap kit? thats what i plan to do and im sure om not the only one looking at this combo.

Post a price and let us know im game long as the $$$ keep coing in at work

Well every one I have e-mailed every one that i know had shown interest in this. 30 e-mails went out we only had 10 possitv buyer out of 30 ony two have sent me a complete list of what they want hopfuly that number will grow threw the weekend this is what the e-mail said in case you did not get a copy sent to you. If you did not get this you need to e-mail me as soon as posible when I sent this out I sent it to every one that responded to this post from now on it will only be those that have sent me an e-mail to make it a little less confusing for me.

If you have already done this I’m sorry a bought the e-mail just want to make sure every one knows the latest please e-mail me if you have any questions.
Well guy I think we have enough people to order these bases now in case you have not see the last post I talked with SDPC to day and they said that any additional purchases that are made at the same time will help bring the price down so I am asking every one to send me a list of exactly what they plan to order with the base I for got to ask if they come with intake gaskets so this is one thing we may need to buy I have bought these from them before and I recommend the felpro performance gasket it is thick like almost ¼ I think I paid 18.00 for them last time I bought a set you may also need the TPI gaskets I think they are like 20.00 as well you will also need the intake bolts 4 of them I think they are around 18.00 this is all stuff I will check on for you if you plan on getting the heads let me know witch set it is you are going to get if you need any think at all no mater how little I my self need a rap balancer bolt and a few other small things for a separate project I’m working on and I will be putting this on the list I send them . As long as we have the ten orders the 359.00 price tag is good any thing else we ad from now on just makes it that much cheaper so know is the time to get heads cam rebuild kit what ever you need the more we spend as a group together the better the coast will be for all of us. I would like to have this put together as soon as possible but I know some people may need more time to get the money so please also let me know how soon you can order this I would like to start the orders next week but if every one sends me the list this weekend then Monday I will get the final prices for every one and let you know what it will be I will also find out how much of a window we have for the orders hopefully everyone will be ready they will not ship until we have a least the first ten orders in unfortunately once the first order is in the price will be set in stone I know some of you would like to know the price if we bought twenty but I think it would take a long time to get that many people to order so this will be our best bet . I will also need your real names and adress or at least state and zipp to find out the shipping.
Thanks Earl

If you have ? please feel free to e-mail me and i will do the best I can to answer them. The most comon ? is wat if I get this as well I cant give you a finnal pricee until I know what all of us will be ordering they are going to take the total of everyones order nd then give us a discount the only thing that is set in stone is that we have to order ten of the bases and they will be 359.00 or cheaper if our grand total for every ones orders is alot they did not give me a % or doller amount all they would say is they will work with us but they can not give us a final answer until we tell them every thing that will be orderd. We all want to save money and they SDPC decided that insted of figuring out a discount for a bunch of difrent combos they would just give us all a better deal on the base but who knows how this can turn out as soon as I get every ones parts list or just a reply saying they need the base only and an adress for shipping cost I will find out everyones total send it to you and tell you exactly how to order it.
Thanks Earl

only seven people have sent me all thair info write now The whay it looks like this will be set up is I will give SDPC your name and address so they can give me the total with shipping I will then e-mail you with the price that your order will be.You can then contact them give them your credit card # or how ever your going to pay for it and as soon as all orders are in they will start sending them.Monday I will get with them and start getting pricees on every thing it looks like we will not have much of a chance to get the price lower out of seven orders only three of us had any thing besides the base and gaskets but its only friday we can wait threw the weekend and see what happens if you guys would like to try and wait one more week to get a few more poeple involved that to is an option please let me know what you think.

keeping this at the top dammit :-)

If they knock 50 off the intake itself im betting we can prolly save 200-300 on a total conversion kit so if your wanting to do this get in on it now folks:-)

Just thought I would let everyone know the curent total and a few other things that have came up.At this time we have 12 people 15 if we can wait one more week mabe this will give us time to get 20. the other thing is I recived sdpc e-news letter and they list a # for the egr modification kit that they make for it but no price so monday I will price this and post it hear for every one the other thing is on their site know they also have detailed instructions for those of you that have never done this before and would like to get an idea of what is involved.
If the rest of today and tomarrow go as good as yesterday and this moning we may have twenty orders going in this should help the cost out alot more so plan for the 359.00 but dont be serprized if it turns out a loy cheaper in the end.Hope you dont mind the extra week but for twenty orders it will be worth the wait.
