I'm looking to buy a c4 corvette and one I'm seriouly considering is an LT1 car. MY first question is, is there any advantage to the miniram over a stock LT1 intake? I ask this because i have a complete miniram setup that i plan on putting on my fresh 383. Which brings me to my next question, The motor i built is an early 80's block so what i'm i going to need to do to adapt to the LT1 harrness and or TPI harrness if i end up going pre 92 or get back in a third gen. Please any advice would be helpful. I also read breifly that the injector pulse is different for an lt1 compared to tpi. So i guess my biggest question is what is everything i 'm going to need to do to use my early80's 383 miniram setup on either a lt1 car or tpi car. Thanks in advance.

It depends on the heads of the motor you built and those of the Miniram. Biggest port Miniram with stockish heads would be a mismatch.
As for wiring and adaption there, your best bet is probably the 2002 van PCM EFI w/ 8 coils that S10wildside sells harnesses for. This will require timing chain area located reluctor(s) and timing cover change.

You are not going to run your early engine with the LT1 electronics because you have no provision on your block to run the front mount Optispark dist the system uses. Also LT1 water pump won't fitOriginally Posted by tomtom420

Would have to retro fit a '90/'91 Vette (730 / 727 ) TPI ECM and wiring harness which if you are pulling the LT1 engine out makes it pointless to buy a LT1 car.
Your MR 383 would be plug and play on a earlier non LT1 Vette (with correct tune) with no wiring mods

LT1 and MR are different intakes but have similar characteristics ( top end ) which is why the aftermarket has made few replacements for the LT1 intake because it works so wellOriginally Posted by tomtom420
