After spending the whole weekend stripping the car down and masking, I shot some color tonight...did the doorjambs, the top edge of the fenderwell, radiator support, cowl, and behind the tailights. It looks great!!! I'm still doing bodywork on the doors, fenders, and hood (ASCD RA1). I'm doing the engine compartment in a couple months when the new motor goes in.

Originally the car was red with silver ground effects, but I'm going back with Sunset Orange Metallic and black. The scoop on the RA1 hood, the mirrors (4th gen bird), and the roof are going to be black. Once the windows are tinted, it should visually lower the roofline. I'm going to get a 4th gen style spoiler soon, which will also be black. The doorhandles, locks, and antenna are going to be shaved.

Those colors sound like they will look awesome together. I can't wait to see it finished.

I'll have pics soon; doing more stuff today (fixing a few minor defects in the bumper cover and ground effects, prepping the doors, etc) I'm off all week, so hopefully I can have the bodywork done by the end of the weekend. I'll post some pics of the car I started with for comparison; it was pretty beat!

looks like you and me are in the same boat, im also in the process of painting. im just finishing up sanding and will be able to paint soon (black). i have to work which is going to get in the way.
