just thought i would bring back the argument here for a minute or two, i manage ScorpionMods.net and although our market is aimed towards computer modders i decided to try it out in my car, here is what i have done so far, there are 2 4" green cathode lights where the drivers and the passenger’s feet sit, can't see the tubes, can't see the wires, can't see the inverters, just a toggle switch and a 5mm LED on the dashboard, there is module on underneath the dashboard which allows me to control whether the lights are on, flashing in between themselves, or sound activated, all done so that it would blend in, i have 2 sub boxes in my trunk, the higher box (not the well) has two ports that point towards the back of the car and right on top of the well subwoofers, they are 79mm in diameter, so i added two 80mm circular cathodes to the wholes, these are also controlled by a module and can only be used when the stereo is on and if the amp has power. like i said, all these lights can be turned on and off at any point without any kind of work, just the flick of a switch, flame me, kill me, sue me, whatever, they attract a lot of attention (which can be good or bad) and in the end, people buy our stuff, it works great, and i love it. i don't drive around all the time with them on, but if i am hanging out with some friends in a garage or something like that, i will turn them on, they are just cool... all i know is that when i get pulled over i NEVER turn them off, better to act stupid than to have to explain to the officer why i turned them off, i am then admitting to knowing that they are in fact illegal, so i just play the idiot and turn them all off when he tells me to. it's the way that these lights were installed and the way they look that attract me, i cannot stand when i pull up next to someone and all i see is wires all over, bulbs hanging out, switches with bare wires and whatnot, that's ridiculous, it's the glow that i want, not the other crap that might come along with it, anyways, just my 2 cents i guess...

Is it illegal to blue tint your windows as long as it is under the legal limit? Nope...and nor are clear lights inside your car.

Same effect, no ticket... so why should the blue glow from neons be illegal.

Also, there is no way anyone is dumb enough to think somone driving around with a blue aura coming from their car is a cop.
Oh yeah? I chased an Eclipse up the highway before and some kids behind me who chased to watch it flipped on blue neons in there interior & the both of us actually pulled over. Am I stupid now?

The charge WILL hold up in court very easily. It's simply ILLEGAL. There's no disputing the laws, so whats your point? The only thing you could fight in court will be wether you intentionally impersonated being police, or wether you had them there for appearance - and BOTH are illegal either way.

How are you even going to make the blue window tint statement? That's no different than having a blue car. It doesn't glow, it doesn't illuminate...Whats your point, again?

In Massachusetts it's illegal to have any interior lights on while your driving other than your dash/intrument lights. Many other states are like that.
