how to clean my rims

I have a 91 z28 and i was wondering if there is a good product to clean tlhe rims. My rims have spots and some stains. how can I clean them?

I'm gonna assume they are aluminum rims, so I'd just go find a good aluminum polish after you wash them with soap and water.

Strip the clear off of them and then poilsh them up, if the clear is bad.

How do you strip the clear off? And what do you use to polish?

ive always used soap pads aka SOS pads, aka steel wool (sp?) just make sure u wipe them down with a weet rag after u wash it off, the hose doesnt get it all off. cleans well though
