grungera91Z it depends on the paint......60miles a day is abuse wether it's easy or hard miles. that's over 17,000 miles a year so if your paint is stock then yeah i'd wax it too.

Its all in the preparation...
1st thing is to use a cleaner. I use Meguires #3 (i believe, ill have to look again) medium cut cleaner with a buffing wheel. Then follow up with a good glaze... I like Meguires #7 show car glaze. Applied with a wheel it'll take out all the fine scratches. Follow up with a 2nd coat of #7 applied by hand, then a good wax. I prefer Meguires #26 or CarBrite Butterwax or CarBrite SLEEK (on dark colored cars).
Also you guys that are getting a "haze" over time... its gonna happen. The haze and microscopic scratches usually come from drying the car after a wash. You get dust on the wet car then rub it in when you're drying it. Best thing to do is get out the #7 glaze and bring it back. Don't wait too long between applications or it'll just get worse over time.
Also too much wax can be a problem also. If you're going to follow the above steps first wash your car with Dawn liquid dishwashing detergent. It'll remove any wax and grease you have on the finish.

mike be sure to dilute that detergent...otherwise while your stripping your wax and other chemicals your pushing harsh abrassives into the paint.

kandied, why is it u dont use wax? and what do you use/do to get the shine you get on your car without waxing? i've wondered this since i heard you didn't wax but just now thought to ask...

Since I just had my car painted, the friend that painted it for me told me to use the Mequires #7 show car glaze since I can't wax it for like a year he said to make sure the paint is completley cured. I can definitly tell the difference when I put the glaze on. The only problem with the glaze is that it comes off with water so after it rains or if there was any dew in the morning when you car was left out you have to put it on again to bring out the shine again.
