i dont think so , i mean i really like it, i just got it , and its just getting paint. i dont think i could go back to another wing if i got rid of it. I thought about it, but i would want $1000 bucks and then i want two of the molded wings, one for the one i took off and then one for another car when i buy . I mean its at paint now, so its gonna be great but i really dont think i would have it molded now.

Nolan, I would try to negotiate a cut of the profits from sales of this wing if it gets molded. You'd probably end up with a lot more money.

well i didnt buy the wing to make money , i would want 1000 to get me another wing right now, like a 4th gen style and have it painted and get my other decklid painted. and then i would want two other mecham wings once molded but i dont think id let it be molded for a while, since its getting paint now. But down the road you never know.

that wing is too small, its too low, it needs to be kicked up higher, but as long as you like it. thats all that counts.

question: how many of them have you seen?

answer: prolly none.

Conclusion: they are rare, they came stock on few cars like 520 of them.

therckid i dont know whos car that is , i think it was one off ebay, as for seeing that wing, when i saw the add in ebay that was the first time i had seen that wing. Its different, im wondering how it would look on your car if you painted your mirrors and the wing black .

i have a bad feeling that the reason this spoiler is taking so long to prepare is cause that painter molded it so he could get all the profits.

I dunno when i get these feelings i always end up being right. Some how, i dunno.

I love it! I think the Ram Air hood really sets it off. I like the stock rims on the car too. I am suprised that the wing made such a difference. It really looks nice.

Id say just add some sail panel birds and T/A badges and you will be set. IMO

I have the 92 Z28 AERO wing on my Camaro and it puts enough downforce down so that the sides of my wing touch the rear quarters ever so slightly at speed even with 1/4" or more of clearance. I can tell this by the marks on my clear coat that match the wing exactly and my hatch is adjusted correctly. I believe that someone stated that the MECHAM wing puts out 250lbs of downforce. I weigh 208 lbs and if I sat on your hatch I am sure the wing would hit your quarters. I am curious if the wing touching the quarters at speed is a problem for the MECHAM wing.

over all i like it, but i think if the RAII hood wasn't there it would be much better, just imagine this spoiler here a little higher, yes this is the spoiler i'm getting.

Dont mean to hi jack it but....

Camaro Mike:
Very funny, but an air dam is for the front of the car to keep air out from underneath it. That would make a third gen overheat. A spoiler is fully attached, a wing has stand-offs or mounting pillars. These designs are kind of a cross between the two, so either term will work.

It is a roadracing wing, not a quarter mile wing. If you have ANY wing on your car it is slowing you down in the quarter if you go fast enough, unless you have traction problems at high speed. For a 12 sec car, they serve no purpose. They are all about style, and that's it.

If you like what is popular and fashionable, why aren't you driving a Camry? I'm sure theres a few available.

By Air Dam I mean that the spoiler is high enough to catch a lot of air like a water dam. It was meant to be funny.

As far as a wing not affecting 1/4 time then you should speak with the NEON or MUSTANG crowds that have gained .1-.2 tenths by removing wings off of their vehicles.

Lastly, what the heck is with the popular and fashionable comment. Most call it good taste.

i love the wing, it looks so great with the hood, im glad i did it. As for it hitting, i dont think it has yet, i took it to 4000 rpms in od and i have 4.10 gears , i think thats around 110-120 , somewhere around there.

My buddy at this moment just called me from the yards and he found a Mecham wing on a car...but it seems that the car was a rollover and one side of the wing is damaged....however since its fiberglass I'm sure it can be fixed. I told him to pick it up anyways to see if anyone is interested in fixing it and molding it.

it depends on how bad it is, It probably wont be worth it if its too bad. But you never know, are you sure its a mecham wing or is it like the one therckid is gonna get .

Thanks for the intro SC82TA, Yes I did find one. However the "badge" or whatever it was that said Mecham somewhere on the dashboard is now gone. Anyway, here it is on the junked car.

[edit]: The badge is the only thing I'm going on here to assert that this is a true mecham wing. Otherwise, I can't be sure.
