i recently installed a rear glass without defrosters and i had to take off the sealant strip aka beutyl adhesive strip. So , i figured use black silicone . Well it looks like crap , so , what should i use or does anyone know where i could get it. I went to the chevy garage, they siad it was discontinued and then went to autozone or advance auto . and they didnt have anything. So i ask you guys who have removed the rear decklid, what the hell did u use to seal the decklid to the glass. thanks guys . i really need this advesive crap.

Could you use that black urethane stuff??? Seems to be popular, especially for putting in tail lights. I think its used for insulating houses but seals anything really.

Autozone has the same stuff but, it's not listed in the 'catalog' on thier website. It's the same crap that is used for sealing older car windscreens in. It comes as a 15' roll for like $7. 3M also makes it in a few various sizes. It's called ribbon sealer (3M's name for it).
I used the stuff from AZ.

*edit... here's a link for 3M... http://products3.3m.com/catalog/us/e...er/output_html

DoBeR, what black urethane stuff?

deadbird, i wonder if i go to a car shop where they do stuff like windows and body repair that they might carry something like that . That stuff that you gave me the link to is probably close but it is too narrow. I think the service manual says that it is 5/16 or something like that .
