I wanna buff out my car to make it look somewhat decent, I have a Dewalt buffer & a restorer polish for oxidized cars, is their a certain way I should attempt this. I used an orbital buffer once about 4 years ago when I drove the car. Here is what she looks like as of now. Their is some rust on the roof so I'll becareful in that area.

Meguiars makes a 3 step polish. Works really well, just hurts the wallet... It also makes life easy when you get some scratch remover, it's a fortune, too, but it works great. An afternoon, a case of beer, and a buddy and it'll look like new..

You are on the right track. What kind of "restorer polish" are you planning to use? It may not be aggressive enough unless you pair it with a stiff polish pad for the orbital. My car is red metallic and the hood had a bad case of oxidation. I used Meguires 83, then 80, then 7 glaze, and finally a good carnuba wax with progressively less aggressive pads on a Porter Cable DA. It worked great on my 91 TA. Don't know why it wouldn't work on your black finish.
Remember to go slowly and let the polishes work.

What types of pads should I use, I only have the wool one ryte now.

I prefer the foam buffing wheels, they come in different grits, and are fairly inexpensive..
