I never see anybody go out of the box with these cars. just thought it would be neat to see some wild/weird or even stupid paint jobs. i think mine is all of those lol and it's almost finished
i know someone will want to say "we don't paint them like that cuz they don't look good on these cars"..... well to each his own. for me, this being my 7th camaro i just wanted to have fun. so i went to town in my garage one day and came up with this. every body who stops by the house and see's it up close tells me it's just sick, sweet, awesome, etc. just having fun... thats what it all about.

Because when you spend tons of hours and money on something you can't afford but, like, the last thing you want to do is **** away all that effort and time on a paint job that may captivate you for a year.'
It's not that people are prudes, it's that people paint there cars to enjoy them for a long time because for most, it's a one time deal and you pick something you can live with for the duration of ownership.
Outlandish paint and body work is generally reserved for people without a concern of being able to afford getting sick of it and changing it from trend to trend.
Not everyone wants or, can afford a second, 'hey give me attention' car either... most just want something nice to drive that's older and not some sh-tbox door wedge looking (new) car.
Not everyone has the funds to 'just have fun'....IMO
I'll repaint it someday but thats after I have squeezed every last bit of HP out of the engine. lol89fbrestor

i like the green one
and the pink is pretty classy for the color.
"dead bird" i agree with what you said BUT that doesn't make it bad for those who do want to have a little fun. I'm not rich i just take my time and put a little $ into it when i can. i do 100% of the work myself and that save a ton of money.
for me it wasn't a "going with the trend" at all. it was hey that would be FUN, why not. i see no point in having a hobby or owning a car you like if your not going to do what you want with it or worry about "hey look at me and give me attention" who cares what people say. I'm 33 and that paint job doesnt fit my personality at ALL..... IT WAS FUN. if anyone out there is not enjoying there camaro get rid of it so we can

"sh-tbox door wedge looking (new) car." funny
but..my beef with crazy custom paint is, yeah, it gets old fast. And faster if you that's the only car you have, and you have to look at it everyday. Sensory overload sort of. There is a certain charm about stock appearing paint that's hard to duplicate.

When my car's finished it will be a bit on the crazy side -- it's a deep purple with prizmatique in the paint. The prizmatique doesn't photograph well if at all -- imagine glitter that sparkles from yellow, red, green, blue, purple as you scan down the side of the car but only in direct sunlight. If there's no sun it just looks like little grey specks in the paint. If I ever get a decent pic, I'll post it.
BTW - I love the OP's colors -- I want to put that bright green on my Silverado Z71 and since it's my business truck, it would definitely be for the attention.

unique yes, nice. what kinda drive train you have in that thing. i'm getting ready to drop my motor in mine. should be around 460hp.
Right now it's a stock speed density 305 TPI. Will be dropping in a stock LT1 this winter. Engines dictated by class rules.

Your way to serious for this forum, relax. Alot people no how to paint cars, you might not? But if you do you know it can be done cheap. Me and my father use to go in his shop when I was a kid and mix left over paints and try different things. It was fun and a good learning experience. Theres different people and different levels of car enthusiast. Show some respect for other peoples threads. I really dig crazy paint jobs and things and I also enjoy seeing perfect restores. Theres quality in both. (Im new at this but this was a reply to deadbird I think who ever had that snooty comment). That was downer im better than you talk; not good for a bad-*** sight like this one.

I actually agree with you fully, but it should be known that some people (like me and many others) think the best look is often simple. It's the subtle details that you add that end up making a huge difference.Originally Posted by deadbird

ya i just don't agree. i think its silly for anyone to say this car should look like this cuz i say so. regardless if you have money to afford changes to it when you get tired or not. i think its extremely immature to have that mind set. "well i say they look bad with outlandish paint jobs" ... who is anyone to say that, you have ur own car go enjoy it and leave what other people enjoy alone. just my 2 cents.

I plan on a pretty wild paint job once my car is all done. Got a friend working on a picture I will post when I get it.

it was the first time i had tried a design in my paint job. I'm starting my 68 mustang now and i plan on doing something similar to that as well. it may be a little "out of the box" but the way i see it ........ have fun. pic is how it sits now everything is done i just have to drop the motor in now.Member

I don't think you can beat Forza 3 right now for car designing in a video game!

Yeah forza 3 + millions of decals on the marketplace.

Forza without a doubt the bestMember

I actualy agree with that also, subtle strategicly placed lines or accent can really do more than bam in your face. I got a little excited to see a senoir member cast a jaded comment into a open non-serious forum, I guess I was just thinkin there was alot of assumptions in his statement. And I still see relics of the "need for speed" instant popularity rollin around. You know the dodge advenger with the double stacked 200 pound fiberglass wing on a stock body and rims. "Awesome". NOT. But anyways to each his own, as long as there enjoying themselves like I am.Originally Posted by DeltaElite121

I really like this, I need to paint the top half of mine but wanted to add some color just didnt know what it would look like cutting off at the piller. It dont look bad and I like how you switched the stripes up, I just noticed the pins on the hatch whats that about.Originally Posted by GMan 3MT
