Has anyone ever polished their rims this way? can you recommend a good proceedure? I can't wait to polish my rims.

elbow grease and sand paper is must cases. Use dremel to rip tough castings and file stuff down. Finish with sand paper.

Poor lil Dremel. You'll kill it pretty fast by trying to use it on such a large job. The cotton buffing wheel is so small it will take forever. For small things use a air operated die grinder. You can put a MUCH larger wheel on them. They don't overheat like a Dremel will. Just keep them lubed occasionally. In my case I had my rims prefessionally polished, then maintain them by hand. But I've got Pontiac WS6 rims that are a lot easier to keep polished. Good luck, Lon.

You *CAN* polish quite a bit with a dremel, but it takes forever! How do I know? I'm doing it right now LOL.
However, Im using a sander as well as hand sanding first - then use the dremel for the actual buffing.
I'll show you the results so far a little later this weekend!
Oh, I forgot - I'm polishing the tpi/runners + some other things.

I think the dremel will do a fine job, but you'll have to replace the buffing wheel a couple times... you probably want to use a big wheel on a drill for the big areas and the dremel for small crevices...
